Construction on the new synthetic turf fields began in mid-June. Our goal is to have the soccer field (Ciccarone) completed in mid-August and the football/lacrosse field (Kelly) to be completed in early September. The soccer field has had the drainage completed and is now receiving the stone base. The stone base is the final stage before the actual turf goes in. In order to prepare for the fields for construction they had to be stripped of it's topsoil which was stockpiled on Kelly Field. The topsoil is to begin it's departure from the WCASA complex the week of 7/28. Turf installation will begin on Ciccarone field on August 4. Once the topsoil stockpile is removed the final stages will begin on Kelly Field. The retaining wall on the southeast end of the field is near its completion. The wall will be completed the week of 7/21. Final grading will not take long then the drainage and stone base will be installed. Both fields will be ready in plenty of time for the fall seasons. Turf installation on Kelly Field is slated for 8/18.
